2 juveniles in custody after student injured during altercation at Proviso West High School

HILLSIDE, Ill. — Two juveniles are in custody after an altercation involving a sharp object in the parking lot of Proviso West High School.According to the village spokesperson, the incident happened Tuesday morning when three students got into an altercation. One of them produced a sharp object and cut the other student in the arm. Police were called to the scene and Proviso West High School was place on soft lockdown. Two juveniles were taken into custody, one of them being the student with the sharp object.The spokesperson said the injured student was transported to Loyola Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. AUSTIN (KXAN) — While training to be an obstetrician and gynecologist in Fort Worth, Dr. Danielle Mathisen learned she was pregnant. Her initial excitement sharply turned to heartbreak when she discovered 18 weeks into her pregnancy that her baby had no formed brain structures, only one kidney and a hole in the spine. Mathisen’s doctor told her that the baby was unlikely to survive or would suffocate upon delivery. Mathisen and her husband decided to have an abortion. NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York City Eric Adams believes the Amtrak train service will be partially back up and running by Thursday. Services between Albany and New York City were suspended due to structure issues with a privately owned, non-Amtrak garage located above the Empire Line tracks in New York City. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Reported structure issues included two gaping holes in the concrete and subpar beams. The city shut down the parking garage.Amtrak stated on Monday that they are working with the builder owner and the NYC Department of Buildings to restore service as soon as possible. Amtrak has not yet commented on when train service to Albany is expected to return.Mayor Adams added he expects the Amtrak Empire Service to be fully operational by Friday.
