(CNN) — Buckingham Palace on Sunday revealed further details ahead of the coronation of King Charles III, which will take place in London in less than a month’s time. The new British sovereign will be crowned alongside his wife, Camilla, in a deeply religious service at Westminster Abbey that will take place on the morning of May 6.There will be two processions through the streets of the British capital on coronation day — one taking the King to be crowned and a larger parade back to Buckingham Palace after the historic service, where the monarch and members of the royal family will make a balcony appearance. In addition to the new details on processional routes, carriages and coronation regalia, a new emoji has even been designed to mark the celebrations. Based on St Edward’s Crown, it will appear on Twitter when coronation hashtags are used over the holiday weekend.Journey to WestminsterFor the drive to the service, King Charles has opted to ri...Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by car in Salem

Published Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:37:07 GMT
It has been almost a month since Aaron Rodgers expressed his intent to play for the Jets.Since then, the Jets have spoken to the Packers about trading for the 18-year veteran, but a deal has yet to be reached.Last Friday, during a media event in New York, WFAN’s Boomer Esiason asked Jets general manager Joe Douglas about Aaron Rodgers. Douglas responded, “He’s gonna be here.”The Jets and Packers would both like to finalize a trade for Rodgers before the NFL Draft, which will be held from April 27 through the 29th. Gang Green wants Rodgers around for its offseason program, while Green Bay wants more draft capital. So what might a trade for Rodgers look like on both sides?Ideally, the Packers would want the Jets first-round pick [13th overall] for Rodgers, but that’s unlikely to happen. However, the Jets have two second-round picks that they could give away. The Jets receive:Aaron RodgersThe Packers receive:2023 second-round pick (No. 42 overall)2023 fourth...All eyes on Trae Young as usual in Heat-Hawks, this time in play-in game

There was a time when Trae Young thought he owned the Miami Heat, or at least when the Atlanta Hawks guard acted that way. That, to be precise, was during a December 2019 game, after the Hawks went up six with 59.9 seconds to play.At that moment, Young, defiantly, swiped his arms to his side to signal to the fans at AmericanAirlines Arena that it was over, mouthing those words, as well.It wasn’t. The Heat would rally to force overtime and then win 135-121.No, it was not the best moment. Many no-so-best moments would follow for Young against the Heat, creating arguably the lead narrative for Tuesday night’s play-in game at Kaseya Center, with the winning team advancing to the best-of-seven opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs against the Boston Celtics on Saturday and the loser left to fend for itself in hosting a Friday winner-take-all game against the loser of Wednesday night’s Chicago Bulls-Toronto Raptors play-in game.“The Trae Young narratives,&...77-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting two women at Woodbine Casino

He said the dead included two officers and two civilians. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion fell on the Pakistani Taliban, who have stepped up attacks across the country since November when they ended a monthslong cease-fire with the government.Pakistan has also been battling an insurgency in Baluchistan for more than a decade, with separatists in the province demanding complete autonomy or a larger share of the province’s gas and mineral resources. In a statement, provincial chief minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the attack and ordered authorities to provide the best possible medical care to...Industrial accident in Etobicoke leaves worker critically injured

India will surpass China’s population this month. Or maybe in July. Or, perhaps it’s happened already?Demographers are unsure exactly when India will take the title as the most populous nation in the world because they’re relying on estimates to make their best guess. But they know it’s going to happen soon, if it hasn’t occurred by now.China has had the most people in the world since at least 1950, the year United Nations population data began. Both China and India have more than 1.4 billion people, and combined they make up more than a third of the world’s 8 billion people.“Actually, there is no way we can know exactly when India will surpass China,” said Bruno Schoumaker, a demographer at Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium. “There is some uncertainty, not only about India’s population, but also China’s population.”STILL, WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?Mathematical calculations from a range of surveys, as well as birth and death recor...Thousands of Rutgers faculty go on unprecedented strike

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — Thousands of professors, part-time lecturers and graduate student workers at New Jersey’s flagship university went on strike Monday — the first such job action in the school’s 257-year history.Classes were still being held at Rutgers as picket lines were set up at the school’s campuses in New Brunswick/Piscataway, Newark and Camden. Union officials had decided Sunday night to go on strike, citing a stalemate in contract talks that have been ongoing since July. Faculty members had voted overwhelmingly in favor of authorizing a strike last month.Three unions, which represent about 9,000 Rutgers staff members, were involved in the strike: The Rutgers AAUP-AFT, which represents full-time faculty, graduate workers, postdoctoral associates and some counselors; the Rutgers Adjunct Faculty Union, which represents part-time lecturers; and the AAUP-BHSNJ, which includes faculty in the biomedical and health sciences at Rutgers’ medical, dental, nurs...Latest news
