Kingston Police investigation ongoing after school lockdown Kingston Secondary School (KSS) and Module Vanier were placed on a short lockdown on Wednesday afternoon.In a statement sent out to parents at KSS and Module Vanier, the Limestone District School Board (LDSB) said they received information around 1 PM of a potential risk inside the building to students and staff, leading to a police presence and a half hour full lockdown in the building.“At approximately 1:00 p.m., we received information that there was a potential inside risk to students and staff,” the statement read.“School staff responded by enacting the Limestone District School Board’s emergency protocol by putting the schools into lockdown and contacting emergency services. Driver shot after 40-mile police chase that ends with crash into 7-Eleven DENVER (KDVR) — Deputies were involved in a shooting and pursuit that ended with one suspect in the hospital and a crash into a 7-Eleven store. It was a chase that would last nearly 40 miles.Just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Thornton Police officers were involved in a shooting in Thornton. The sheriff's office said officers were shot at during the chase, but they did not return fire at that time.“At some point, the suspect began firing shots at Thornton Police officers. At this point, we believe there was two volleys of gunfire from the suspect vehicle at the Thornton officers,” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said.Following the shooting, Thornton officers and Douglas County deputies pursued the vehicle. Man critical after police-involved shooting near Miami Edison Middle School A man has been rushed to the hospital after what investigators described as a police-involved shooting near Miami Edison Middle School.City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the incident in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and 62nd Street, at around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday.Police said the call initially came in as a man in his 20s found shot in a field.Investigators said the man suffered injuries to his head and leg.Paramedics transported the patient to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.Back at the scene, 7News cameras captured several officers in the field, part of which was cordoned off by crime scene tape.Detectives have not provided further details about what led to the shooting, as they continue to investigate.Please check back on WSVN.com and 7News for more details on this breaking story.

Boston police seek public’s help in search for missing teen last seen in late September Boston police asked for the public’s help Wednesday in efforts to find a missing 16-year-old girl last seen in late September. Police said Tamarra Wilkins-Smith, 16, of Hyde Park was last seen on Sunday, Sept 24 around 1:50 p.m. on surveillance video at the Attleboro MBTA Commuter Rail station. Earlier in the day, police said, Wilkins-Smith was spotted in the area of Allan Street and Boston and Eastern Avenue in Malden. Boston police described Wilkins-Smith as a black female, standing approximately 5’4” with black braided hair. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt with long sleeves, black/white checker pajama pants, black/red sneakers and carrying a black backpack. Police said Wilkins-Smith reportedly attends Jeremiah E.
